WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FIRST WORLD WAR?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘It started in 1914 and ended in 1918’<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Women were kept on the Home front to work’<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘The Christmas Truce took place and a game of football was played’<\/strong><\/p>\n

T Prior. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘More destructive weapons were used in WW1 than an other war before’<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Trenches were rife with disease and rats’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ethan Dighton. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘Events occurred that are still be debated today’<\/strong><\/p>\n

S Hadlow. Age 14<\/p>\n

‘The assassination of Franz Ferdinand Triggered the war’<\/strong><\/p>\n

S Juncker. Age 14<\/p>\n

WOULD YOU GO TO WAR FOR YOUR COUNTRY, IF SO WHY AND IF NOT, WHY NOT?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘Yes……because this country is my home. \u00a0I would fight for the people and my family’<\/strong><\/p>\n

J Youdale. Age 14<\/p>\n

‘Yes, because fighting for you country is a heroic thing’<\/strong><\/p>\n

T Holmwood. Age 14.<\/p>\n

‘It would depend on the situation. If it was the last resort and the country was at risk of losing and being invaded, then I might but otherwise I probably wouldn’t’<\/strong><\/p>\n

W Plumb. Age 13.<\/p>\n

‘I want go to war because I am too young. \u00a0May be when I am older I might though’<\/strong><\/p>\n

J Edwards. Age 14<\/p>\n

‘To be honest I wouldn’t want to go to war because I know of all the tragic and horrible things and conditions in the trenches. \u00a0However, I wouldn’t want to let down my country or be seen as a coward’<\/strong><\/p>\n

D Byrne. Age 14<\/p>\n

‘Personally, I would not go to war for my country. \u00a0I feel that I have learnt from past wars and I understand how much of a waste of time war is. \u00a0I feel that if other people did the same as me, then there would be very little people fighting, so less destruction and more safety’<\/strong><\/p>\n

R Harris. Age 14<\/p>\n

WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO PREVENT ANOTHER WORLD WAR EVER HAPPENING AGAIN?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘Looking back at past mistakes I would think very carefully about doing anything where war is concerned’<\/strong><\/p>\n

S Howell. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘To prevent another world war I would look at all the mistakes that happened before and see how we can fix it, for instance, forming friendships with other countries’<\/strong><\/p>\n

C Wade. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘But in place a world wide alliance system which countries have to agree on, resulting in world wide security and countries weapons being taken away’<\/strong><\/p>\n
