WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FIRST WORLD WAR?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘Pals battalion \/ trenches \/ horses \/ weapons \/ white feather campaign’<\/strong><\/p>\n

E Homes. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘It started 100 years ago’<\/strong><\/p>\n

F Jordan. Age 14<\/p>\n

‘I know that the Triple Alliance was also called the Central Powers, that the British used dogs and pigeons for messages and the Germans enforced their trenches with concrete’<\/strong><\/p>\n

M Underdown. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘Conscription and the Women’s Land Army’.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WOULD YOU GO TO WAR FOR YOUR COUNTRY, IF SO WHY AND IF NOT, WHY NOT?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘No because I don’t want to die’<\/strong><\/p>\n

M Wright. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘I would because I would be serving my country and I would earn respect doing something for the country and I think the weapons are cool’<\/strong><\/p>\n

S Limbu. Age 13.<\/p>\n

‘I wouldn’t, I couldn’t kill someone’<\/strong><\/p>\n

M Jeffrey. Age 14.<\/p>\n

‘No because I don’t believe in war – I believe that you can have a civilized conversation and compromise. \u00a0I think was is not the answer’<\/strong><\/p>\n

J Kellman. Age 14<\/p>\n

‘No. Because I don’t believe fighting is the answer. \u00a0I’d rather try and settle it calmly’<\/strong><\/p>\n

S Jones. Age 13<\/p>\n

‘I would go to war for my country to protect it and keep it safe like it kept me safe. I also believe not to hurt any living thing’<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Cooperate with other countries and try to work something out, there might be a way for both sides to get what they want without violence’<\/strong><\/p>\n
