FORELAND FIELDS SCHOOL PREPARES FOR FREE v FREE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pupils at Foreland Fields School received their peace poppy balls for their Free v Free games on their school’s peace pitch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Thank you, everyone for the peace balls. I remember playing football at the Peace Village, Belgium, on their peace pitch with these balls. Happy days<\/strong>‘ said Josh, pupil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Play on Foreland Fields School Ramsgate Peace Pitch<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday 23rd<\/sup> September, the day after I returned from the CFA Global Peace Games in Messines, I had the pleasure of attending the Foreland Field Peace Field game to celebrate Peace Pitch Day with students from the school, including many who were at last year\u2019s Global Peace Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helen Newman, Leader of Learning 6th<\/sup> Form, and Lee Goddard, Sports, had arranged for students to play some football on the school\u2019s Peace Pitch which had been twinned with the Peace Pitch at Messines the previous year. The Foreland School Peace Pitch is adjacent to the new sports pavilion where the Peace Field plaque will be proudly displayed on the completion of the pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students really took on board the spirit of the Christmas Truces, playing for fun, without pitch markings and using coats and army helmets (reproductions) as goalposts. The school hope to organise annual Peace Field games and invite other schools to come along and join in on the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
