THIS COUNTRY ALL STARS and SWINDON TOWN LEGENDS, raised money for this year’s Global Peace Games. The GPGs provides a week-long peace education through play programme. Mixed gender mixed ability children from diverse backgrounds will be representing their communities from far and wide this year: Afghanistan, Belgium, Cameroon, Czech Rep, England, Iraq, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Somalia, Syria, Turkey and Ukraine.
Swindon Town Football Club, the first English professional club to twin their Foundation’s football pitch with Flanders Peace Field, Mesen, Belgium site of the World War One Christmas truces, hosted the charity football match. The wonderful people of Swindon supported the event on a sun-bleached County Ground.
A big thank you to Clem Morfuni, Rob Angus, Ray Murphy and all the STFC staff that made the Charity feel so welcome. The charity’s patrons Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper, invited their friends to join the Children’s Football Alliance family for fun in the sun. Dad, Grumps and Co-Founder, Paul Cooper, said, ‘THANK YOU to everyone that gave up their time to pledge support for investing in Peace Makers of the Future.
