NEW BRIDGE INTEGRATED COLLEGE
CELEBRATING FOOTBALL MAKES OUR SHARED HISTORY THROUGH SPORTS DAY
Playing football at New-Bridge for the first time…
Our Year 8 team get the season underway with a fixture against Markethill High.
Playing your first fixture for your new school is always exciting and we (as a College) enjoy nothing more than presenting our pupils with this opportunity.
New-Bridge Integrated College hosted a Primary School Gaelic mini competition, for St Mary’s PS Bridge Inegrated PS and Rowandale Integrated PS. Playing Football is a significant part of our College life with over 25 years of competitive games against other schools. Our local Primary schools were delighteed to be invited to this tournament run by Mr. Leneghan and Miss McKenna. Sharing times through sport are important to the integrated ethos of our College.
Mr Leneghan presented the medals and trophy and shared his experiences of growing up through sport and particularly Gaelic football. we look forward to hosting this tournament next year at school our our ‘New Peace Pitch’, where football will be played by generations to come.
New Bridge Integrated College’s Peace Pitch is one of 18 Peace Pitches across Northern Ireland. The peace pitches advocate sportsmanship and friendship. Football Makes Our Shared History is inextricbly linked to the International Peace Field Projects. Creating Peace Ambassadors for the Future.
Mr Walker signs the FMOSH Peace Declaration and outlines New Bridge Integrated College’s project. ‘There is a lot of excitment about FMOSH amongst students and staff. We are looking forward to sharing our research evidence supporting the need to celebrate peace through play on International Day of Peace’.
