A MESSAGE FROM THE 2023 AMBASSADORS FOR PEACE

Magherafelt High School’s 2023 Peace Ambassadors shaping this year’s 2024 Global Peace Games (GPGs) at a CFA workshop. General feedback was excellant. The cycling experience to the Christmas truces remains top of the GPGs. All the Magherafelt High School students wished the 2024 Peace Field Project GPGs participants good luck for this year’s games.

‘The Peace Field Project has brought our school closer together with our community and surrounding schools. The Global Peace Games is much anticipated with all our children giving support to the participants that are representing our school Veli Vrh Pula Elementary School‘. NORTHERN IRELAND BOXING LEGEND CARL FRAMPTON SUPPORTS LIMESTONE UNITED AT THE GLOBAL PEACE GAMES

Carl Frampton (pictured right with Paddy O’Donnell and Declan McDaid) is a Northern Irish former professional boxer who competed from 2009 to 2021. He held world championships in two weight classes, including the WBA and IBF super-bantamweight titles between 2014 and 2016, and the WBA featherweight title from 2016 to 2017.

‘It is great to see Limestone United cross community project continuing their Peace Field Projects and their journey to the Global Peace Games. I have played against Limestone United over many years and it is great to see them progressing, using football to build peace at the interfaces. It’s great to see a brilliant connection with The Children’s Football Alliance who strive to engage young people with peace education through play.’ Carl Frampton.

Brian Caskey, LUFC, says’ ‘The boys are looking forward to participating at this year’s Global Peace Games. Preparations are well under way. I think they will take a lot of positive experiences away in this once in a lifetime opportunity’.

NEW DELHI PEACE FIELD PROJECT VOLUNTEERS.

‘The children are very excited to be representing the community and India at the 2024 Global Peace Games’. They took part in helping to create the first ever Peace Pitch in Delhi. The experience inspired them to want to represent their community and become Ambassadors for Peace’. Dr Geeta Arora.

‘The Green Fields School Peace Pitch is very popular and used by girls and boys of all ages and mixed abilities. They play in the spirit of fare play, sportsmanship and most importantly, FUN. There is huge excitement amongst the children to experience the 2024 Global Peace Games‘. Mini Khanna, Principal, Green Fields School.
